# GETTING STARTED

Welcome! This section takes you from zero to a **fully protected server in just a few minutes**. Follow the three steps below in order.

## The Path

| Steps | Pages                                            | What you'll do?                                      |
| ----- | ------------------------------------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| 1️⃣   | [Requirements](/getting-started/requirements.md) | Check your server version, Java, and license.        |
| 2️⃣ | [Installation](/getting-started/installation.md) | Drop in the jar, add your license key, first boot. |
| 3️⃣   | [Quick Start](/getting-started/quick-start.md)   | Turn on the recommended protections and you're done. |

## TL;DR (the 3-minute version)

1. Put the jar in `plugins/` and start the server once.
2. Open `plugins/AuroraSecurity/config.yml` and set your **`license-key`**.
3. Leave anti-spoof on auto-detect and restart:

```yml
general:
  anti-spoof:
    mode: "AUTO"
    on-insecure-config: "LOCKDOWN"
```

## Running a network?

If your server sits **behind a proxy**, head to the matching guide after installation:

[BungeeCord](/setup/bungeecord.md)\
[Velocity](/setup/velocity.md)\
[Universal Jar](/setup/universal-jar.md) — one file for backend **and** proxy.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://wiki.asgmc.net/getting-started.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
